Cooperation with LMU Munich

Anding & Company collaborates closely with Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), combining academic rigor with hands-on practice. This partnership started when our founding partner Markus Anding completed his PhD and helped build up the Institute for Digital Management and New Media back in the early 2000s. Since then, we are proud to have recruited several LMU graduates as consultants.

We teach a Bachelor-level exercise on our proprietary Value Canvas framework and a Master-level seminar on Corporate Digital Venture Building—both designed to equip students with practical skills, proven analytical frameworks, and a realistic understanding of consulting and venture building projects. Beyond the knowledge transfer, this cooperation serves to identify and develop top talent, helping students gain hands-on consulting experience.

Bachelor’s Exercise: Value Canvas

In this exercise students develop a structured understanding of value creation and gain practical experience with:


  • Value Drivers: Understand and differentiate key value creation drivers such as revenue, process efficiency, employer branding and many others
  • Value Driver Prioritization: Compare and critically assess the value drivers to prioritize and align business and technology stakeholders
  • Hands-on Application: Formulate and test value hypotheses using our Value Canvas software
  • Presentation & Feedback: Present results and practice how to respond to critical questions

Master's Venture Building Seminar

We teach an immersive 10-week seminar on building digital ventures in established organizations. Designed for advanced master’s candidates pursuing consulting or entrepreneurial careers, the course mirrors a real consulting project and is based on actual corporate cases. The seminar equips students with practical skills in structured problem solving, stakeholder management, business case development, and executive-level communication—skills that directly translate into consulting and strategy roles.


Key Learning Components

  • Strategy Foundations
    Introduction to value creation principle and core Anding frameworks such as the Corporate Startup Canvas, Hypothesis Trees, and the Digital Value Canvas
  • End-to-end delivery
    Students are challenged to crack the whole case —from idea validation and market exploration to building a robust business case and securing internal corporate funding
  • Ongoing coaching
    Regular exchange with experienced consultants, who assume corporate roles within the case context and provide content input, challenging and feedback to the students
